no, chemicals in perming solutions will only change the structure of the hair, although if over processed (left on to long), it will cause the hair to break. Having said that you can suffer hair loss if the roller is wound too tight.

Can you put a perm in your hair while there is chlorine in it?

Rule #1 : no wetting including washing & swimming 5 days before putting a perm in it. Chances are the chlorine would still be in your hair and will react to the perm chemicals and result in hair loss and or the perm will not take to your hair. Also no wetting 24 hrs prior to applying the perm or the chemicals will not take to the hair and it woukd be a waste of time.

Can you bleach your hair after you relax or perm it?

NO, Your hair is already being damaged by the perm or relaxer. I would wait a while before applying bleach to it. It will kill your hair and will cause hair loss, frizz and damaged hair.

What can be used to clean perm out of hair?

Perms are chemical. A perm can not be cleaned out of the hair. A perm can only be removed by other chemicals, or time will wear a perm out. If you choose to remove your perm with chemical perm remover, you take a big risk of the added chemicals doing damage to your hair and scalp.

Does perm makes your hair healthier and longer?

A perm does not make your hair healthy, It uses chemicals to permanently curl your hair until your hair grows out. I don't recommend perms because of how much damage it can cause. Conditioning treatments may help with making your hair more healthy.

Can you dye your hair 12 days after your perm?

Correct time between chemicals is (2 weeks) so I am sure that if your hair is in great condition it shouldn't be a problem.Helpful hint: Always perm 1st, the neutralizer which is the second part of a perm has a little amount of peroxide and can cause the hair to lighten. So, due to this I recommend you to perm 1st. So that when you are ready to apply color you will not cause it to fade.

Can you perm your hair with conditioner in it?

It is best to see a professional when dealing with chemicals on your hair.

How can a perm damage your hair?

Yes, however only when the person doing the perm does not know what the chemicals in the perm and neutraliser are capable of doing to the hair. Always ensure your hairdresser does a number of hair tests before perming the hair. If the hairdresser has done this and has experience of perming hair, then it will be safe to have a perm.

Is it better to perm then dye or dye then perm African American hair?

it is better to perm the hair then dye because the chemicals in the relaxer will strip the hair of color. This increases the risk of your hair color being lighter than you desired.

Can you perm hair after chemically straightening your hair?

It's not recommended that you perm your hair after you have relaxed your hair. Perms are different from a Relaxer and they both contain different chemicals that's not compatible with each other. It can lead to hair breakage.

Can you dye your hair before you perm?

The perm chemicals can make your hair color wash out or fade significantly, so I would suggest talking to your hair stylist. If you have used a henna dye or any dye that contains metallic salts, the chemicals in perm solution will cause a volatile reaction when mixing with the metallic salts in your hair, so its not suggested to use any type of color of this kind if you plan on having any kind of chemical texturizing services done.
