No, the medication Effexor cannot affect a pregnancy test result.. however.. if you get a positive pregnancy test result, you should talk to your doctor about the safety of Effexor during pregnancy ~pawsalmighty
I am currently on Effexor and have been wondering the same thing. From the research I've done, it would seem that taking it IS NOT harmful. Actually, the extreme stress and mental/emotional strain of Effexor withdrawal and going without it for months can actually be MORE harmful for the well-being of the baby than if you stayed on.
An option, if you are worried, is to slowly reduce your dosage (with the help of your doctor!) throughout your pregnancy, ending up on a minimal/no dose by the time you deliver. That way, the baby will not go through any withdrawal from the medication once it is born.
Taking Effexor during breastfeeding doesn't seem to be a problem, as only minimal traces of the medicine actually make it into the breast milk.
Some medications can. It just depends on the medication and dosage.
Other things that can affect test results include fertility drugs containing hCG and recently stopped taking the contraceptive pill. Your periods may become irregular leading you to test too soon. If you have recently been pregnant (even if not carried to term) you may get a false positive result. In addition ovarian cysts, ectopic pregnancy, menopause and some very rare medical conditions can give false results.
Testing before your expected period reduces the tests accuracy. Following the test procedure incorrectly (including specified sample time, not keeping the absorbent tip pointing down, and expiration of the test) are causes of false result.
If you are unsure if the test results are accurate have a blood test done by your doctor.
You should eat the foods those are full of iron such as liver. banana, apple.
