Autism is a neurological difference - just like people are a different sex, race, have different coloured eyes, etc. - it's a normal variation in human kind. Autism is not a disease or an illness that needs to be cured, when people talk of curing autism what they really mean is eradicating Autistic people.

Autistic people have various treatments available to improve their symptoms, although not enough is provided to deal with symptoms such as sensory issues and a lot of therapies are actually considered to be abusive - electro-shock, bleach enema's, and ABA for example are considered to be abusive.
