Can dogs get a cold sore from people?
When they don't have it.
People get cold sores from the herpes virus and can be brought on by stress, sickness, and any other thing that compromises the immune system.
Approximately two thirds (2/3) of the population of earth have the usually dorment Herpes Simplex Virus, which is the cause of 'cold sores'.
Cold sores are caused by a virus spread through skin-to-skin contact with an infected person, at the location where the virus is active, during a time when they are shedding v…irus.
Yes it is a herpes infection but normally a different type. Cold sores are normally caused by Herpes Simplex Virus Type 1 (HSV1) while genital herpes are caused by Herpes Simp…lex Virus Type 2.
A person has to be infected with the herpes virus (type 1) to get a cold sore.
I wouldn't think so. A "cold sore" is just an outbreak of herpes simplex virus and will not likely make the jump from humans to canines.
Actually, I don't think so. I'm pretty sure about that. Because dogs don't have hair-free skin around their lips so they shouldn't be able to... If you want to make sure just …ask a vet. It's what I would do. But, otherwise, no.
Dogs can't give cold sores to humans.
Approximately 2 thirds (2/3) of the population of earth suffer from cold sores. Needless to say, it is definitely not a rare condition. Cold sores are a result of the usually… dorment Herpes Simplex Virus, a virus spread with considerable ease, even just by touch!
Skin-to-skin contact with an infected person, at the location where the virus is active, during a time when they are shedding virus.
Theoretically yes. If you come in contact with a breakout that someone is having on their mouth, the virus can be transferred. So, if a friend or relative has a cold sore it i…s best not to touch it and don't share drinks until the sore dissipates.
UV exposure is a common trigger for cold sores. I would not recommend their use for people with cold sores.
I'm not really sure about that. People i know sunbathe all the time and share stuff with others, but never got a cold sore. I've never even heard of that. Sorry if i wasn't an…y help. :) :( ;)
That is unlikely to happen diseases are not often passed between domesticated animals (dogs and cates) and humans.
Cold sores result from infection with the herpes virus.
If you have mouth to mouth contact with a person who has an active outbreak (a cold sore) you may contract it as well. Cold sores are caused by Herpes Simplex Virus 1 and 2 (H…SV-1 and HSV-2). It is important to note that HSV sores can be spread by contact to other parts of the body. Currently, while there are treatments available, there is no known cure for HSV.
