yes u can feed chickens oats, scraps from dinna (including meat, BUT NOT CHICKEN) wheat, grain, bread anything humans eat chickens can!! I read in a poultry raising book that feeding chickens oats helps them get through hot weather. Feeding chickens too much dairy, especially probiotic yogurt etc, gives them the runs.
no u can not Oatmeal is probably one of the best grain foods for new chicks. Oats cannot be
suitably prepared, however, in a common feed-mill. The hulled oats
are what is wanted. They can be purchased as the common rolled oats, Quaker brand plain rolled oats or similar are fine but do NOT feed instant or flavored quick oats. (these contain salt and sugar)
Sometimes known as as cut or pin-head oatmeal. The latter form would be
preferred, but either of these is an excellent chick feed. Oats in
these forms are expensive and should be purchased in bulk, not in single small
packages. Feed dry not prepared/cooked. Chick starter is much preferred overall and is available either medicated or not. (cheaper than oats too).
Oatmeal, or small oat flakes are best offered in dry flake form, so they can peck it from the ground, but water must be available at all times. This way the duckling is able to monitor it's own intake. Poultry wheat can also be offered, and pellets can be introduce once the ducklings' beak size has increased, at about 8 weeks.
Chicks can eat grain, even when they first hatch. Most animal feed stores carry a chick starter, or a specific feed for the chicks to eat. As the chickens grow, their feed type often changes to give them their adequate needs.
Baby chicks need Chick grower. Peanuts would need to be unsalted and in very small pieces as the chicks could choke.
Best not to give them "treats" Get chick grower feed for them.
no you cannt for the simple fact that the rice will grow when its in the belly and it will kill them i just went through tis with 29 of my own
Yes you can, cause'my grandma has a farm and feeds baby chicks spinach!
Oats are certainly on the chickens menu. Raw oats and oat husks are part of all commercial feed. Leftover oatmeal from breakfast is a good treat for the birds when you clean up the kitchen.
oatmeal
Foxes do eat chickens, given the chance.Yes
Chickens eat grians, some wheats and corn.
we eat oatmeal
You certainly don't have to, unless you are giving them a special treat. Chickens love cooked oatmeal just the way it is. They would love oatmeal mixed with milk, but as milk isn't really cheap, it's probably not something you would want to keep up.
yes, chickens can eat brownies
Oatmeal :)
NO
Yes, raccoons do eat chickens.
Chickens eat grit to help with their digestion.
Yes, chickens can eat grapes! Some chickens love them! Chickens will eat most fruit. Grapes are one of their favourite treats in the fall of the year.
They will eat cooked chicken if it's thrown out with other food scraps, but if you are raising your chickens to eat, it probably will not be a good food to give them often (could affect the taste). It's probably not good for them either. Cracked corn is best.
