Definitely not. This is a common mistake that many people and beginners I know or have seen before make. Juniper trees are an evergreen plant, (Never lose their leaves, keep them the whole year.) and under the type of plant conifers (Spiky, needle or pointy like foliage growing plants that have cones that contain their seeds. They only start getting cones once they are old enough and big enough) so they are to NEVER be put inside. Make sure you put them in a place with full sun, water regularly(Only when the soil is dry.) but even when the hottest weather comes, like 35 or 40 degrees Celsius, you will need to protect these hardy, tough plants. Because no plants are scorching heat immortal, even the toughest plants around.

They won't really go well as a Bonsai tree inside, Although they will receive light from the window, it is best to grow it outside because the humidity of indoors is much different of that to outdoors. Inside it will grow slow, and all the foliage will eventually shrivel up and the tree will die of the humidity of indoors.

No definitely not. Juniper need 6 hours a day and 4 hours of indirect sunlight. They are ever green trees so need allot of sun. For indoor trees you do allot better with Ficus whether is Tiger Bark Ficus, Ginseng Ficus, or Willow Leaf Ficus. Another common specimen you see used for indoor bonsai is Chinese Elm. You can check care guides for Juniper care and other varieties of bonsai.

What is a good tree for a bonsai?

Depends on your climate, whether you have outdoor space for growing it or need it to stay inside. There are thousands of varieties of trees and shrubs that will make good bonsai, I personally have about 75, of which about a dozen are indoor tropicals. The nost common for beginners are probably ficus for indoors, juniper for outdoors.

How to trim parson juniper planted in landscaping to look like bonsai?

Yes you can trim off unwanted branches & limbs to create a Bonsai affect. See google search for juniper bonsai & let that be your guide. HOWEVER, DO NOT TRIM TOP OF BRANCES, these must be finger pruned. You pinch off just alittle of each top branch. This will force growth down INTO THE TREE and thus make the tree much fuller. Cutting the top of the branches stunts tree growth. Look up finger prunning if not sure what to do. Simple procedure once you know how. Have fun. Bonsasi1948, Ted
