It varies with each patient - though Neurontin is normally used as a drug for neuralgia and seizures, there has been some evidence that it helps augment pain medication used by nerve pain sufferers. That's why it's often prescribed along with pain drugs. In my own personal experience, it never did anything that was effective or even noticeable.
