No. The shell grows around the snail as the snail grows bigger, but the snail is fastened into its shell and cannot leave it.
Hermit crabs live in empty shells, and find a new, bigger shell as they grow.
No. A snail's shell grows with the snail, because it is attached to it, so it cannot move into other shells anyway.
It lives in it's shell, and it moves by sending "waves" on the bottom of it's body.
Yes
Moving....
i don't think snails do! Snails poop from inside their shell. They have a small hole in their shell that allows them to carry waste out.
they go in to there shell or come out of there shell i think ahhaa lol
snails never come completely out of there shell there shell might break so they can grow a new one. but a snail performs torsion in witch its body twist into the shell they create and can not leave there shell but can grow the shell bigger so there shell grows with them
no. all snails young and old have a shell at all times even if they switch shells. a slug is another type of animal that doesn't have a shell.
No, the eggs are layed above water and when the baby snails hatch they fall in. from there many baby snails will go into the parents shell for protection. or sometimes on top of the shell. I dont think the parent snails even notice the little ones. often they will push them out of they way to get where they're going, but I've never seen one eat it's young. sources: I breed snails
One snail goes on top of another when they are mating.
They have a hole by the entrance of their shell, which they breathe through. They also "go to the bathroom" through it.
a snail needs a shell so that in the wild bigger insects such as spiders and frogs do not eat them and if you have not noticed they have little teeth when they go in there shell so that if something does eat it the thing that is eating it will spit it out because its teeth dig in and basically bite it.PS get snails from the sea they are the best i recently just went to the beach and got some so fun.
No
I believe garden snails do sleep. Not like I know it from experience, but I find that my garden snails often go into their shells and stay like that for a while. Though I predict this behaviour is done to prevent themselves from drying up, I believe that they should be having a nice rest inside their shell, too.
When preparing to mate, snails often go through what may be described as a mating ritual which can involve playful biting and rearing up to one another. One of the most distinct examples of this is Helix pomatia, which rear up as if they are fighting and act as though they are kissing. This can go on for a number of hours. More often than not it is one stimulated snail trying to get another interested and it is not uncommon to see one snail wandering around with its penis hanging out of the genital aperture looking for another snail who is interested in mating.
A slug is really just a snail without a shell. If you don't know what a snail looks like, go to images on google and type in snails.
