One example of false consciousness is being persuaded by an infomercial that you need a product but in all reality, you do not need it. Another example would be watching something bad happening in front of you but thinking it is not bad.
False consciousness is the reason lower class citizens vote republican. They have adopted the views of their oppressors. It is the reason why lower income families will vote for tax "cuts" for the rich. Same breaks that wont benefit them at all directly. They dont realize that they aren't helping themselves, but the people who are fighting to keep them struggling. To be blinded by the song and dance and not "realize" where your alliances should really be.

In general, it is not a crime to give a false identity on the telephone, by itself. However, if you give a false identity in order to trick someone into giving you money, for example, that would be a crime.

False image appeal is when a viewer is essentially tricked into thinking a product will give you results that you see. An example would be mascara product commercials; most of the time the actors are wearing false eyelashes instead of the mascara being advertised.
