Bits of fecal matter from the large intestine entire the appendix. After some time, the fecal matter collects, can't get out, and develops and irritating nidus. Your body develops an inflammatory response, and a purulent infection ensues. With uncheck infection, it finally bursts under pressure.

The inflammation of appendix is known as appendicitis. If diagnosed with it, it must be immediately removed. If left untreated, the inflammation will worsen and evenly lead to burst of appendix. Appendix occurs where there is a blockage or presence of a foreign agent in the body.

Before an appendix bursts, it becomes inflamed, usually due to infection. If left untreated, the appendix can become inflamed to the point that it will rupture, at which time the condition becomes a medical emergency.

The appendix is a small appendage about the size of your little finger on your intestines. It lays on your right lower abdomen just about at your belt line just above your right hip bone.

The appendix sometimes gets infected and will burst from the buildup of infection. That infection then pours into your abdomen & causes toxins to spread around your internal organs.

A Dr will remove the appendix before it bursts whenever possible & if it bursts, you may need powerful antibiotics to get rid of the infectious material.

It can be deadly, but is usually removed before it bursts.

The chemicals and microbes within the appendix are toxic and may inflame surrounding organs causing sepsis.

The rupture of the appendix exposes all organs within the abdominal cavity to bacterial infection which results in peritonitis .

Usually it’s believed to be caused by a blockage in the lining of the appendix. When it can’t function the bacteria builds up and causes inflammation and infection. Contrary to popular belief, we actually do need our appendix. It regulates the amount of bacteria between the intestines like C. Diff. Sure, we don’t eat tree bark anymore and the advent of antibiotics greatly diminished the criticality of the appendix, but it’s not vestigial and it’s not at all useless.

How does Appendicitis affect the digestive system?

Appendicitis is a hemorrhage of the appendix. Without immediate treatment, it is fatal. However, treatment involves the removal of the appendix. It was previously believed that the appendix was a rudimentary part left over from a distant ancestral species. However, it has been recently discovered that the appendix serves as a "breeding ground" for the good intestinal bacteria. Without these, your immunity is decreased.
