Bees can fly in rain, but they don't like to. The sun helps their
navigation/sense of direction. When bees get caught in a thunderstorm
they have to either fly or wait out the storm
Its quite easy to observe aquatic wasps, some are quite common. --Catalog of Organisms: Taxon of the Week

Yesterday I have hold under water, for more than 5 minutes, about 20 wasps that were in a trap. The trap was full of water. After 5 minutes, the wasps came out as vigourus as before they went in. So : can a wasp breathe under water? For 5 minutes, yes.

I once (and only once) performed an almost equally sick experiment on a wasp to see if it could breathe under water. I trapped a single wasp in an upturned glass. I carefully decanted the air out of the upturned glass into a sink until the glass was full of water. There was only a tiny bubble of air left next to the middle of the wasp's body, just above its abdomen. The bubble was so small that I could see it expanding outward and contracting inward almost exactly ever second, that was sixty times a minute. This was very surprising since I had read that insects passively let air into their bodies, but then maybe this situation isn't typical and perhaps under extreme stress they pump air in and out of their bodies, though it didn't move its wings or legs around so it didn't seem like the wasp was working hard to breathe. Anyway, after about a few minutes the bubble of air started expanding and contracting slightly faster, 70, 80 times a minute. The tiny air bubble contracted so much that it completely disappeared into the wasp's body. Then it suddenly stopped breathing. About a minute later the wasp frantically started moving around and died, turning upside down in the water. It was a horrific site and I really wish I hadn't performed that stupid experiment (if you can call it that). So no, sadly wasps definitely cannot breathe under water.
Wasps can swim! In a sense. Certain types of wasps can walk on water. Also, one time a wasp walking on water, and when i trapped it underwater with a net, it walked around on the net while underwater for a little more than a minute before it drowned.
Bees can fly in light rain, but they prefer not to. They can't fly in heavy rain -- imagine being that size and being hit by a raindrop...
They find shelter, they don't like flying in the rain.
They can fly in light to moderate rain, but not in heavy rain.

If their wings are only a little wet, they might fly but not as good. If their wings are very wet, they will not fly at all.
Not usually.
Yes, but they seldom do so.
When relating this quote to weather, it means that it will be a perfect sun shining day if the bees fly away from you. If they linger around you, it will be a gloomy rainy day.
they fly
Bees stay close to the hive when rain is nearby because they can detect changes in air pressure. If is going to rain and the air pressure drops, the bees will remain in their hives.
subtropical rain forest
Bees are generally not active at night. Bees are attracted to light, so if they are flying at night, they generally will fly towards an electric light.
Yes, bees can fly in the rain for a limited time, but they try to avoid it.
Honey bees may go out in very light rain, if it is warm enough, but they won't fly in heavy rain. They are also good at forecasting the weather. I have noticed no bees flying from my hives and wondered why not because the weather was fine -- and a short time later it was raining. Imagine what it would be like if you were the size of a honey bee and were hit by a raindrop!

They usually don't fly at night.
