I would say yes, but test a small area on the dog first. After allowing the tea tree oil to set for a few minutes, make sure that the area is wiped as to not leave a residue for the dog to ingest. See how the area reacts on the following day. If there is not allergic reaction present, try applying to a larger area. Remember, tea tree oil is not to be ingested; it is a type of poison. I am going to try this treatment on my dog. Four bouts of antibiotics have not cleared the condition and I am willing to guard my dog while I treat the area. Be sure not to leave any of the tea tree oil where the dog can get it or lick it. Always consult your veterinarian I am not an expert. Thank you.

No! I definitely would not use Tea Tree Oil to treat a dog's wounds. According to the American Cancer Society: "Tea tree oil is toxic when swallowed. It has been reported to cause drowsiness, confusion, hallucinations, coma, unsteadiness, weakness, vomiting, diarrhea, stomach upset, blood cell abnormalities, and severe rashes. It should be kept away from pets and children." Always consult a veterinarian before using any "human" treatments for your pet.
Tea tree oil is best NOt to be used on an open wound! Could make you immune to the benefits of the oil, or could irritate/cause bad reaction.
