That is simple. All you have to do is look at what the recipe calls for in each ingredient and then just double it. For example, if the original recipe calls for 1 cup of flour and 2 eggs and a teaspoon of salt, the doubled recipe will then need 2 cups of flour, 4 eggs, and 2 teaspoons of salt.

This can be tricky if you are not methodical.

Write down the ingredients and the amounts. Make sure you have tablespoons and teaspoons sorted out.

Multiply the amount of each ingredient times 2. For example, two cups of four becomes four.

Alternatively, buy two boxes of the same cake mix. Follow the directions on each box, putting the ingredients into one bowl. The baking time may not double, so you may have to watch the time.

It depends on how deep your pan is, the thicker the cake, the longer it will need to be baked for. The first time you use a double recipe you should add a few minutes to the recommended bake time then keep checking it and adding time as needed. When you deem your cake done record the time so you know how long to bake it next time.

Yes, you can double the cake mix for a bigger cake. Although it will make not make the rise any higher, you can make twice as much, consider your recipe an outline for flavor and quantity. Just be sure that if you double the recipe you do just that, do not substitute ingredients. (unless it's an option like butter/margerine)

It may raise and then fall. If you are lucky, it will just be taller than normal. Type of cake is going to make a difference also. All you can do is try and see what happen.

Yes. You don't necessarily need to double baking time, however, depending what size and number of tins you're using.
