People are not "hired under" the ADA. The ADA merely prohibits discrimination by employers against covered individuals and requires employers to make reasonable accommodations for covered employees.

A covered individual can be fired as long as the employer's action did not discriminate against the employee on the basis of his or her disability. For example, any employee, covered or not, can be terminated for cause.

You could, but you could then probably bring them to court as such actions would be against the law in most places. So in that way, you can't be fired purely for having a disability. They would need other reasons to fire you. If you had not disclosed that you had a disability and then this subsequently had an impact on your job or having such a disability made you ineligible for the job in the first place, then your case would be greatly weakened.

Can an employer terminate an employee out on disability and Lawyers for this situation?

In theory, an employer can not terminate an employee out on disability, assuming you provided sufficient documentation. If you think you've been wrongly terminated, then I'd contact the EEOC. They can provide you with more info and point you in the right direction.

Is a pregnancy related disability compensable on a short term disability claim?

If it is directly related to your disability and that is included in your short term disability policy then yes it would be covered. But if it is just because you dont want to work due to your pregnancy than it will not be covered. Disability is just what it means that you are disabled.
