I assume you are asking about the 760 pumpmaster XLS. Their are 9 different variations of the 760. The Crosman 760 is a BB repeater or single shot 177-pellet rifle. But your… question is how do you shoot it? Load the rifle with either a Pellet or BB. Pump it several times NOT more that 10 times. Usually 8 pumps is more than enough. Aim at your target grip the rifle fairly tight in your right hand but do not grip it tight in your left hand (Hold it easily with your left hand.) Air rifles have a different kick than regular gunpowder rifles. Holding it tightly in both hands will cause you to pull off target. Relax and take a deep breath and breathe out slowly. Aim at your target using the sights. Squeeze the trigger. Do not yank the trigger or it will pull you off target. Once the rifle fires keep you sights on the target. (Basically follow through with your shot) adjust your next shot to compensate for any variations that you made on your last shot. The 760 is a smoothbore barrel rifle (most all BB rifles are smooth bore) so it is not as accurate as a rifled bore Air Rifle. ) However with practice you will get better at knowing you rifle, so keep practicing.
Not really. If you use the Pellets (Not BB's) you can kill rodents and birds. Pellets splatter and will kill quickly. BB's do not deform and will make the critter suffer and m…ay not kill it right away. I suggest using a 22-pellet rifle to hunt small animals. 177 pellets are best used for small pest control.
Go to (The link below ) and find your parts and owners manual for your gun or rifle. Crosman keeps a web page for older airguns. They also have a list of service centers
Simply put:No it is not. Here's why. It's a combination BB / Pellet Rifle. BB rifles usually use a smooth bore barrel. Where good pellet rifles use a rifled bore barrel. Rifli…ng make the projectile spin giving it more accuracy. BB just tumble when they are fired through the smooth barrel and will drift by design. You can't fire a BB through a rifled barrel because BB's are hard and will damage the rifling. So they are designed with a smooth bore to accommodate the BB. Gamo makes a model P-23 BB pistol that uses a rifled barrel BUT you must use Gamo's led BB in the gun or you will damage it. The Lead BB conform to the barrel and spin when exiting the barrel like a bullet. I would consider purchasing a gun or rifle that shoots only Pellets and has a rifled barrel, if you want accuracy. Also. BB guns are designed for plinking and target practice. BB's, when used to kill varmints are a poor choice because the BB doesn't deform when it hit it's target. Sometimes it just passes through the rodent or will make it suffer before it dies. Pellets deform and make a quick humane kill when fired at a rodent. 2ed answer from different person. ive rebuilt a crosman 2200 and it WA rifled which led me to rebuild this 760 made in the early 90s and ive seen where most people say the 760s are not rifled. but this one is, maybe because its made a time ago. i do not know how accurate it shoots i havent got all the parts to put it together
It may be able to with a small dog, over 10 pumps, at close range.
No- and it would be very dangerous to try. Pellet guns and airsoft are two very different things.
There are several versions of the 760. See the link below for all of the crosman models with dates and manuals.
The 760 is not designed for rodent control. It was designed for simple back yard target shooting. You may be able to kill the snake but it most likely would take several shots….
11 mm dovetail rail
There are nine different versions of the 760 pumpmaster, see the link (below) and find your version. Check the parts manual for a diagram.
See the link below for the owners manual.
They are inexpensive and not worth more than $5. However It's just fine for the 760. A good scope will cost you more than $100. To keep the cost down Crosman uses inexpensive …scopes on the 760. Personally I would not change it out.
It is not designed to kill a Turkey. It is designed for simple plinking and target practice.
I suggest you direct this question directly to Crosman Customer service. See the link below.
Yes, but I would use Pellets not BB's in the rifle. Pellets are more accurate and deform on impact. BB's are not as accurate and do not deform on impact.
