This is becoming more rare as veterinarians are being hit with delinquent accounts and finding their own lines of credit diminishing. Some veterinarians will allow clients to "run a tab", but this is slowly dwindling and will probably cease in most areas within the next decade or so. Veterinarians have started requiring payment at time of service. Most will accept a credit card, and some will accept a post-dated check. There are also some credit services specifically to cover pet-related medical bills - one is called Care Credit, and some veterinarians will accept that.
