I woulda thought the turtle would EAT, or even snap at the fish.... Male Bettas are just too flashy and they'll capture the attention of pretty much any aquatic turtle. Just too yummy a treat to pass up. However, if you introduce a very young turtle to a school of small fast fish (white clouds, guppies, danios) chances are some will survive to the turtles adulthood and then remain safe companions. Only young turtles are true meat eaters. Adult aquatic turtles are herbivores. No, not if you have a water turtle. They love live food and will eat live worms and live fish. Unless your turtle is old, dont do it. When water turtles are old. They prefer to eat plants instead of meat. Don't even try! My friend had a turtle a and had a load of Goldfish in the same bowl, they seemed to be living happily when one day- he just ate them all up!!! We were all devastated but, the turtle seemed to be fine! I'm not sure about the goldfish though...!

No. Fish and Turtles should never be kept together. Turtles should be housed in a Vivarium which has a section filled with water and a dry area of land too. Amphibians poo and piddle in the water and make it deadly poisonous for fish to live and breath in. Also if the species of turtle is carnivorous that could mean that the fish may have chunks bitten off it as well as being poisoned.

i would definetely not do that, because turtles have lungs and need to breath the same air we do, and also some turtles will eat fish.

You can do so but the Turtle will chew pieces off the Betta and eventually kill and eat it.

Turtles eat fish so I would not advise you to put one in with a Betta if you wish the Betta to stay in one piece.

Amphibians poison the water for fish so the answer is no.

Also, the turtle will probably eat the betta before any water pollution affects it.

No, you should not feed your betta fish turtle food. It could cause the fish to get sick! It may even kill the fish. I'm sure you don't want that!

Is there any negative effects placing gold fish with tropical fish?

Most fish get along well. However, do NOT mix betta fish with other fish. Not even another betta. You have to have a permit to have to betta fish in the same tank with eachother. Betta fish are only mixed to mate. Bettas are not born in the egg. They come out as a very small fish. After the betta babies have come out, all of the fish are seperated. Even the parents, if the betta babies are left in the tank with the others the betta parents are very likely to eat the others.
