Ursa Minor is another name for the Little Bear, which is also known as the Little Dipper. This constellation is clearly visible with the human eye in the Northern Hemisphere. Note that Polaris, the North Star is a part of this constellation. -----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

The above is correct, however, apart from Polaris, in areas with bad light pollution the rest of the stars in Ursa Minor may not always be visible.

Ursa Major is a shape that human beings impose on several bright stars in a region of the night sky.
There's no other connection among those stars, and they are all at different distances from Earth.

Ursa major is a constellation. It doesn't make sense to talk about the distance to a constellation - a constellation is basically a direction in space, so it starts right here and goes all the way to infinity. Or however far the Universe goes.
