Storing and freezing biological tissues at very low temperatures is called cryopreservation.

The semen is mixed with a special liquid called a "cryopreservation medium" before it can be frozen, which helps the sperm survive the damaging process of being frozen and then thawed before use.

The mixture is then put into one or more containers (vials or straws) before being stored in liquid nitrogen, or in the vapour from liquid nitrogen. Storage temperatures range between about -150*C to -196*C.

Once the sperm has been made in the seminferous tubules of the testes it moves to the Epididymis where it is matured and stored. It moves along the Vas Deferens to the ejaculatory ducts in anticipation of being ejaculated. All of this takes about 74 days for the male body to produce and mature sperm and store it.

Yes you can! That is how sperm donation works. It goes into a plastic cup and is put into a freezer to preserve it. The female's body also has a way to store sperm, which many teens are unaware of. Sperm can hang out in the body and be preserved for 3-5 days after sex, waiting for the right time to try to fertilize the egg.

The epididymis is one of a pair of comma-shaped, tightly coiled tubes in which sperm cells continue to mature until they are either ejaculated through the urethra, or disintegrate and are reabsorbed by the body.

sperm are both matured and stored in the epididymus.

Are there same number of x sperms and y sperms in the semen?

This question needs to be changed slightly. It is not a correcct assumption to say that gender is based on the level of mature gametes. Gender determination is governed by both parents, and at the chromosomal DNA level, not the much much bigger level of mature gametes.

Sperm cells are stored in the scrotum?

Mature sperm is stored in the scrotum before discharge.

Sperm cells are stored in the epididymis, and that is where they mature.

Where are mature sperm stored until they released?

Mature sperm cells are stored in the epididmysis, a long tube that is coiled up behind the testes in the scrotum.

What are the functions of testes of male humans?

Why are eggs so much bigger than sperm?

That is a good question. Both egg and sperm has the same number of chromosomes. But then the size of the egg is very big compared to sperms. Here the egg has lot of food material stored in them. that is necessary for cell multiplication after the conception. sperms has to run fast for fertilization. You can not run fast with some heavy weight on your back. Also the number of the sperms is very high and so many big sperms will create the problem of accommodation in the semen.

Why are eggs larger than sperms?

if sperms were larger than eggs, al the sperms will squash the egg and there will be no baby!!!
