There are three trains a day from the Washington, DC area to Florida. The Silver Meteor goes to Jacksonville, Palatke, DeLand, Winter Park, Orlando, Kissimmee, Winter Haven, Sebring, West Palm Beach, Delray Beach, Deerfield Beech, Fort Lauderdale, Hollywood, and Miami. The Silver Star goes to all of those cities plus Lakeland, Tampa, and Okeechobee. The third alternative is the Auto Train that carries vehicles and passengers. It leaves from Lorton Virginia and goes to Sanford, Fl.
You will have to take Amtrak to either New Carollton, MD or Washington, DC.
Unfortunately, there is no one train service between Chicago and Florida. The fastest way to get to Florida is to take the Capitol Limited from Chicago to Washington and change to the Silver Meteor for destinations in central and east coast Florida.
The closest Amtrak station to Winchester is Martinsburg, WV. The Capitol Limited runs between Washington DC and Martinsburg.
