Can you take Ambien with Robitussin?

My daughter takes Ambien quite frequently for sleep. She came down with Mono in which the Physician gave her Tylenol 2 for the headaches. She took it with the Ambien and had extreme phsycodelic events. Her hands were misshapen she saw bugs on the wall, people who weren't there, lights that were not on. She also had trouble breathing. My suggestion would be if you do mix the two, use caution. I would not rest until I knew she was going to be ok. Using Ambien or Tylenol alone, she has no problem, but both in conjunction with each other did not do well.

The only likely interaction is the chance to increase drowsiness, especially in the morning. Even though an interaction is possible, these drugs are often used together. You may feel drowsy or more tired when taking these drugs together. Do not drive or operate machinery until you know how these drugs affect you. Ambien is the most powerful cough suppressant I have ever taken. I don't need anything else when I take it. Even a double dose of codeine does mostly nothing for me. It also seems to reduce chest congestion and hard breathing from a cold. But maybe it's just me.

You can take plain robitussin - that just has guaifenesin in it. An expectorant will not interfere with your tranquilizer. You should not take it if the cough syrup is Robitussin-AC though, because that has codeine. Codeine is not safe to take with Ambien.

Talk to the pharmacy and they said you can take ambien with cough syrup. You should watch for extra drowsiness if the cough syrup contains codeine.

I asked the pharmacy and they said you can take ambien with sudafed (the plain red/white box) (little red pill)

Expect yourself getting drowsy, chill for a bit, and wait for some hallucinations to appear. Walk outside, the hallucinations I'm having are much more vivid outside!
