The Seroquel is an anti-psychotic given to those who suffer from bi-polar/manic depression (although in smaller doses it is given as a sleep aid). Funny enough, Codeine is a "pro-drug" because it actually converts to morphine in the blood stream. Of course the responsible thing for me to say is that you should only take the 2 together if prescribed...but let's get real...if you were prescribed them together you probably would not be asking the question to begin with LOL. Medication reactions differ from person to person. For example, my husband takes 300mg XR Seroquel per day. If I were to take more than 25mg, I would be passed out for days! AND HE WEIGHS TWICE AS MUCH AS ME!! However in the same respect, I can take 3 Tylenol 4's w/Codeine and be pain free and slightly buzzed (which is wrong to say, but I am not going to lie to someone who wants a truthful answer). Codeine is OK to take while on concerta, however, be careful with a codeine cough syrup. Some codeine cough syrup also contains Pseudophedrine Hydrochloride, a decongestant. Pseudophedrine Hydrochloride will react with concerta and cause nervousness, shakiness, increased heart rate, and anxiety. The reason being is that concerta is a Central Nervous System (CNS) stimulant and so is Pseudophedrine Hydrochloride, causing a "double whammy" to your CNS. It depends from person to person on if the codeine will cause drowsiness or wakeuflness.

The maximum acetaminophen that was considered safe to take in one dose was 1000mg. However, the FDA has been working to lower dosage regulations for all products which contain acetaminophen/Tylenol, due to the amount of liver injuries or deaths being reported every year. The newer dosages will not have acetaminophen dosages going higher than 500mg. Adding to this problem is the ingesting caffeine and/or alcohol while ingesting Tylenol, can increase the likelihood of liver damage. Therefore, read the labels of what medications you are taking. While it is technically considered "safe" to take two Excedrin (500mg) + 1 Tylenol w/Codeine (300mg), it means you are taking 800mg of Tylenol at one time, as well as ingesting caffeine. Taking this dose every 6hrs means that you are taking 3200mg/day, which will not cause an outright fatal overdose, but over time may cause liver damage. There other over-the-counter preparations on the market which contain NSAIDS (such as aspirin, naproxen, or ibuprofen) and have the ability to stop migraine pain in some people, even if "migraine" isn't written on the box. While Bayer aspirin formulates many different kinds of aspirin, Bayer Back & Body contains aspirin with caffeine, and no acetaminophen. Therefore, you could take a dose of this with your Tylenol with Codeine without posing a risk to your liver. You would be getting all the same ingredients you would be getting from combining Excedrin and Tylenol w/ codeine, but in a safe dose. You could also take a dose of ibuprofen (Advil, Motrin) or naproxen (Aleve) drink it with soda or coffee, and then take your Tylenol with Codeine.
