I take Lexapro and Lamictal daily and occasionally use Ambien to help me sleep. I have been sick lately and NyQuil is my preferred cold and flu OTC medication. I have taken both simultaneously, however, I halved my Ambien dose (10mg to 5mg) just to be more on the safe side. I think it really depends on how Ambien effects you. Some people are really hit hard by it, others (such as myself) can tolerate it pretty well. If it effects you a lot you should probably either reduce the dosage when mixing with NyQuil or try and just let the NyQuil put you to sleep. Just be responsible and you'll be fine. Best..

(I am not a doctor)  I have been taking 300mgs of Lamictal once a day for 10 years due to a seizure disorder.  In the past year I have been prescribed Ambien to help with sleep.  I noticed no adverse physical effects, but it is quite strong.  If you are taking Lamictal for seizures, you need to make sure you don't oversleep and miss your dose.  I no longer take Ambien due to the typical side effects such as memory loss.  Being a hypnotic-type drug, there are always things to consider especially if you are on a high dose of Lamictal.  Anti-seizure meds, in and of themselves, can cause a lot of memory problems.  But as with any drug you are unsure about, always consider what other medications you are currently prescribed.
