How do you get social security for your sons who's father died a year ago and was cremated?

Take the children's Social Security cards, their father's death certificate, and the children's birth certificate to the Social Security office nearest you and apply on their behalf. The children must be under 18, or under 21 if in college to my knowledge. The Social Security website can give more information.

When someone turns 18 does a social security check come in their name?

noTo get social security a person has to work 40 quarters and be at least 62. Social security is for people who have paid into it so they can have a retirement. If someone is 18 today they will not qualify for a full social security payment until they are about 69 or 70 years old.

If you become emancipated will you still receive your social security check until your 18?

Why does your sons social security check stop at age 18 if he is going to college That's when it is needed the most?

Well because when your an adult say at age 18, all social security does is help you live with the money the governments giving you. At in the law says that legally when you are 18 you are an adult. Now if he was still in high school and he was 19 then he could still be getting it. But because he is an adult and out in the real world the government is not going to help him any more. They say that he is a big boy now. that's basically what they are saying and he can take care of himself.
