Yes, as long as the ambien is not time released. I'm on 80 mg of methadone in the morning and take 10 mg Ambien everynight. I would not take them at the same time though since they both sedate.

∙ 14y agoThe methadone and geodon would probably be okay together, but mixing methadone and xanax together is deadly. When I used to go to a methadone clinic a few years ago, we would have about 4 or 5 people die every month from mixing xanax and methadone together. When these drugs combine it depresses your breathing so bad and interrupts the signal from your brain that tells your lungs to breath. So you just quit breathing. And everyone's tolerance is different as well. I have heard of people taking 40mg of methadone and just 2mg of xanax and dying in their sleep. Do not do this, and always consult your doctor concerning these matters.

There likely is a saliva test for Xanax. I know this because I am a patient of a methadone clinic for heroin use and the clinic tests monthly for all illegal drugs as well as "bezos"(xanax). The reason for this is because methadone and xanax combined have side effects that doctors look down on(overdosing being one effect). This is not a definate "yes" to the question but considering how much the methadone clinic staff does not want it's patients using "Xanax" then I am certain that the mouth swab given to me tests for it.

Since I'm sure you read Methadone and Xanax is commonly a lethal combination, I wouldn't recommend doing this unless you have a prior high tolerance to heroin or Oxycontin AND Methadone, as well as experience with Xanax. I've taken 10mg of Methadone and 1mg of Xanax a few times and it was perfect. Then again, I had a tolerance to 80-120mg of Oxycontin, a tolerance of up to 20mg Methadone (pill form, not the liquid) and took 1mg of Xanax with it and was perfectly okay. I really don't recommend this to anyone since everybodys different, but I've known several tolerant people who have done this and have been okay. However, if you do not have tolerance to any of these medications, I would definitely take them separately. I would wait at least wait 6 hours before taking Xanax after your Methadone dose, or vice-versa if you absolutely must. Take care!

Take the xanax away... I take it she is coming off heroin or an opiate since she is on methadone. When you take a benzo with methadone it creates a heroin like effect, and can cause black outs. I personally would not recommend methadone, Suboxone is the better option or Subutex.But be aware that Subutex and Suboxone will give you INSTANt withdraw symptoms,a hardhitting cold turkey, if your not completely out of the Methadone.
