Yes its called your ass. A perforated intestine is a serious injury that would be practically impossible to survive without surgery and powerful antibiotics.
Both the small and large intestines contain populations of symbiotic "good bacteria" that help us digest our food. But with a perforation (hole) in the intestine these spill out into the abdominal cavity, which is supposed to be sterile, causing massive infection.
The only way to correct this is with surgery to suturethe perforation shut, then lavage (a fancy medical term from Latin meaning washing) to clean the abdominal cavity and all the organs it contains. Followed by large doses of powerful antibiotics to kill any residual bacteria that the lavage failed to remove physically.
