Could you give me some advice on what to do- Im really sad because I feel like I can't be a christian and republican anymore because I am a vegan and an environmentalist but I am also a devout christ?

Real simple: You could 'PRIORITIZE'. Try to figure out which is the most important for you.
Secondly: see which ones don't conflict. For example being a Christian and being a vegan should be no conflict. You could also be an environmentalist at the same time.
So we've just reduced down to 2 things. Being a Christian and a Republican. If you feel there is a conflict, then just go back to step 1: PRIORITIZE. Which is more important for you? then go with it; be willing to suffer any consequences. And just be done with it.
Other option: You could just go for 1-at-a-time. See what works best, then go with that.
Another option: Go against the grain, and just eat meat for a while. Or just don't recycle for a month; or just don't be a republican for a year or so. But don't mess with the Christian stuff. Not good.
There is no conflict- Christ is always first in the lives of his followers.
There is no conflict with begin a republican - all have different levels of agreement too. We all live here and must learn to share. If you are a devout Christian then you will understand that the greatest commandment is to love your neighbor. (Actually, many people forget that the greatest commandment is to love God with your whole heart, soul, mind, & strength.)
First of all, Christianity has to do with Spirituality and not food preferences or environmental preferences. Let's get that straight now. You are supposed to be looking for the after life and not your digestive system when it comes to spirituality. There should be no conflict whatsoever. The Bible states your body is a temple and the earth is sacred in God's eyes. So what are you doing wrong? Nuff said...
