Anne's relationship with her mother (Edith Frank) was not very close; the two did not speak much. Anne described her mother as tactless and crude, she said that she did not find her mother's jokes amusing. Her mother sided with her sister, Margot, during arguments and was likely to disagree with Anne. Anne was much closer to her father, Otto.

Anne Frank had a complex relationship with her mother, Edith Frank. While Anne felt distant from her mother at times and criticized her behavior in her diary, she also expressed love for her and described feeling guilty for upsetting her. In the confined space of the Secret Annex, tensions arose, but it is evident that Anne did care for her mother.

Anne Frank and her mother had a rough relationship, especially when they were living in the annex. Anne believed that her mother didn't understand her and didn't love her as much as her father. However, prisoners at Auschwitz reported that Anne and her mother, along with Anne's sister, were always together and seemingly close.

She didn't have a very good relationship with her mom.

She didn't like her mom, and she always preferred her dad than her mom.

Whenever her mom tried to get close to Anne, Anne would just walk away or ignore her. Anne thought her mom never understood her.
