Did the English ks3 sats get cancelled in 2009?

Yes they have been cancelled... however, it is still optional whether the school would like to do them. If your school will not be doing SATs, you will have a end of year assessment! NEW USER Yes they have been cancelled... however there will be test's will still be carried out too judge what SET your child is in for Maths English and Science once they are in year 10 .. but the overall SATS are cancelled ... they are only simple non pressurised test's :)

, a dicision was made by our school headteachers and administrators today that my year six sats which i am due to take next week have been boycotted ( cancelled) due to us having four mock sats previously this year and they all feel it is two much presure for us to withstand. So it really depends on how your school and headteachers view sats and wether they are willing to put you through that xx Good luck xx if you have to do them.

They did stop them due to a number of factors; however, a school can still do the Sats if they want to and they could be marked in the school or by professional markers.

Instead the school may do specialised tests according to ability.

Although the sats are important because it can determine what set you are put in for gcse, it won't affect your gcse grade; but it may affect your target.

I did my says in 2007:

I got 7a in English

7a in science

8a in maths

no, they are not doing them anymore. But we will have termly assesments instead :(

No, sats are NOT canceled, so far the Science sats are though.
