They did. They went by the name Roman Cavalry saddle or Roman Military saddle. These saddles had 4 horns which helped to keep the rider secured during battle.

Not in the beginning, they used clothes strapped onto the horses back. However towards the end of their British invasion they began to use leather saddles that had four pommel horns.
