He was chosen to be the Savior of the world. No... he voluteered. He was the only person on the Earth that was perfect and will ever be perfect. Through the atonment, we can all come back to him. He suffered for all mankind so we all repent and return to him. He died for us and was resurrected on the Third day. Yes we do! In fact, here are 13 of the things we believe (even if you don't want all 13 of them, here they are) Pardon my spelling! In advance:

  1. We believe in God, the Eternal Father, and in His son, Jesus Christ, and in the Holy Ghost. (We believe they are three separate beings, two of flesh (father and son) and one a personage of spirit, the holy ghost).
  2. We believe that men will be punished for their own sins, and not for Adam's transgression. (We are not held accountable for the sins of others, or for Adam's sin).
  3. We believe that through the Atonement of Christ, all mankind may be saved, by obedience to the laws and ordinances of the Gospel.
  4. We believe that the first principles and ordinances of the Gospel are: first, faith in the lord Jesus Christ; second, repentance; third, baptism by immersion for the remission of sins; fourth, laying on of hands for the gift of the holy ghost.
  5. We believe that a man must be called of god, by prophecy, and by the laying on of hands by those who are in authority, to preach the gospel and administer in the ordinances thereof. (Therefore, not just anyone can go and preach our doctrine, we believe that they must be worthy to do so).
  6. We believe in the same organization that existed in the primitive church, namely, apostles, prophets, pastors, teachers, evangelists, and so forth. (We believe, and run our church the way Christ set it up when he was here on the earth)
  7. We believe in the gift of tongues, prophecy, revelation, visions healing, interpretation of tongues, and so forth.
  8. We believe The Bible to be the word of god as far as it is translated correctly; we also believe the Book of Mormon to be the word of God.
  9. We believe all that god has revealed, all that he does now reveal, and we believe that he will yet reveal many great and important things pertaining to the kingdom of God. (we believe that god still speaks to the prophets of our day and that they receive revelation from him.)
  10. We believe in the literal gathering of Israel and in the restoration of the Ten tribes; that Zion (the new Jerusalem) will be built upon the American continent; that Christ will reign personally upon the earth; and, that the earth will be renewed and receive its paradisiacal glory. (we believe that God will literally gather all his people together at Zion (Independence, Missouri).
  11. We claim the privilege of worshiping almighty god according to the dictates of our own conscience, and allow all men the same privilege, let them worship how, where, or what they may. (You can worship what and how you want, and we will worship what and how we want).
  12. We believe in being subject to kings, presidents, rulers, and magistrates, in obeying, honoring, and sustaining the law.
  13. We believe in being honest, true, chaste, benevolent, virtuous, and in doing good to all men; indeed, we may say that we follow the admonition of Paul-- we believe all things, we hope all things, and we have endured many things, and hope to be able to endure all things. If there is anything virtuous, lovely, or of good report or praiseworthy, we seek after these things.

Now, I know that may make us sound all high and mighty, but we are not perfect. We just believe in continually trying to be perfect. . . If you have any other questions, you can contact the local LDS missionaries in your area, they have no problem answering any and all your questions. . . (granted, we don't know everything, but we'll try our best to answer your questions).

Yes! Members of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints (commonly called the "Mormon" Church) believe that Jesus is their personal Savior, and the Redeemer of all mankind. Their worship and doctrine is focused on Jesus Christ, His Gospel, and His Teachings. The sole purpose of the Book of Mormon is to be "another testament of Jesus Christ" (in addition to the Bible).

In fact, the core "Articles of Faith" of the Church state, "We believe in God, the Eternal Father, and in His Son, Jesus Christ...", "We believe that through the atonement of Christ, all mankind may be saved...", and "We believe that the first principle... of the gospel [is] first, faith in the Lord, Jesus Christ..."

The Book of Mormon also says "There is no other name given nor any other way nor means whereby salvation can come unto the children of men, only in and through the name of Christ, the Lord Omnipotent." (Mosiah 3:17) and "...The Lamb of God is the Son of the Eternal Father, and the Savior of the World; men must come unto him, or they cannot be saved." (1 Nephi 13:40)

The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints (commonly called the "Mormon" church) does not accept the traditional Christian concept of the Trinity -- that God the Father, God the Son, and God the Holy Spirit are one God. However, they do believe that Jesus Christ is the Son of God and the Savior and Redeemer of the world.

And there is none other salvation save this which hath been spoken of; neither are there any conditions whereby man can be saved except the conditions which I have told you." -Book of Mormon, Mosiah 4:2,8

"Salvation cometh to none except it be through repentance and faith on the Lord Jesus Christ... And moreover, I say unto you, that there shall be no other name given nor any other way nor means whereby salvation can come unto the children of men, only in and through the name of Christ, the Lord Omnipotent." -Book of Mormon, Mosiah 3:12

"(The Son of God) shall come into the world to redeem his people; and he shall take upon him the transgressions of of those who believe on his name; and these are they that shall have eternal life, and salvation cometh to none else." -Book of Mormon, Alma 11:40

"For God hath not appointed us to warth, but to obtain salvation by our Lord Jesus Christ." Bible, 1 Thessalonians 5:9

"Neither is there salvation in any other: for ther is none other name under heaven given among men, whereby we must be saved." Bible, Acts 4:12
