Chihuahuas come in both short hair and long hair versions. There is no way to determine which one it will be except for raising the chance for a short hair or long hair by breeding two of that type.
Well it depends because the dog I have is a furry chiauaua and it's hair grows long and if u have a short hair one cause I do to it's hair shouldn't grow that long so furry hair chiauaua r suppose to be long short hairs short
Yes! If both of the parents have a long hair gene in their background, then you can get a long hair Chihuahua even if BOTH parents have a short coat. Some of the puppies will be short coat and some will be long.

Maltese are known to be the "smartest" breed in the toy group. They are also much more loving than Chihuahuas and friendlier towards children.
The only true way to get a long haired chihuahua is mom and dad to both be long haired. Once in a blue moon a long hair may pup up in a litter because of the hidden long hair gene that has to be within both parents. So, it can happen but I have never gotten a truly thick long hair chihuahua this way.
Long hair is in.
short hair
Yes. They shed A LOT if they are short haired, if they are long haired, they shed very little.
