Children have to go to school to get an education and to complement the things they are being taught at home by their parents. Also the parents need a break from their children.
Children have to go to school because they need to learn how to write or do maths for when they grow up. Also they can be home schooled but parents have jobs and sometimes don't have time to stay home and look after their kids.
Children go to school to learn new things and make new friends. Children learn reading, writing, math, science, history, art, Physical Education, library, and more! School makes children ready for the real world of billing, reading, communication, and more.

∙ 11y agoYes, to get a good education so they can get a good job when they are older. Whereas if they are ill they should stay off for atleast one day, if they have a pathetic cough they can go to school. If they are throwing up chunks they should stay off for two days.

∙ 16y agoThere are several options for completing childrens education requirements. Bottom line is that whenever that child goes to interview for his/her first job, they are going to have to show either a High School Diploma or a G.E.D Certificate - plain and simple.

∙ 14y agoYes. Most countries require by law a child between the ages of 6 and 16 (sometimes from age 5 and/or to age 15) to attend either formal education or a recognised substitute - homeschooling, vocational training, etc.
Once beyond this age, the child may choose to drop out of school of their own free will; some allowances exist for them to drop out 1 or 2 years early with parental consent in some jurisdictions.
