No piercing is considered fully healed until it's a year old. Contrary to what you may read, it takes the body a full year to season a piercing to the point where it can be removed for extended periods of time without the risk of the piercing closing. Light heals can occur at the 3 month period but keep in mind the piercing can still close making reinserting the jewelry difficult and hard on the new piercing. Anything less than 3 months is just ridiculous and shear nonsense. Should you have issues reinserting your jewelry, go see your local professional body piercer for assistance. Don't force jewelry into a semi closed piercing, only an insertion taper will allow you to reinsert the jewelry without damaging the piercing.
The initial healing stage is about 2 months. That's when you can switch out the jewelry. Lip piercings can heal pretty fast but everyone's different. Typically less than a year though. Of course, it depends if you have any new piercings, if you get sick or if you're around sick people.I wouldn't wear acrylics until 4/5 months.
I've had my lip pierced four times (three times in the same spot) and typically it takes a good six weeks to fully heal. As far as the swelling and ugliness of the piercing itself, you should notice it looking "back to normal" in about two weeks. Swishing salt water will help speed the entire process along.
Whitecookie: HMM 6 weeks??! Mine took about one week just clean it up every once in a while and you should be fine :). All in all Lip piercings are real cool =]. A+ for you :) Good choice.

Properly provided professional lip piercings that are looked after and cared for properly should provide a light heal in about 4 ~ 6 weeks, however no piercing is fully *healed ( *we often call this being "Seasoned" ) until it's a full year old.
Why did you get your lip pierced in the first place that is the stupidest idea ever people should just call you dumb a** or just a** for now on and i think i don't know cause I'm not a dumb a** probably before you get it pierced
well, to be honest it very's from person to person. I have had my lip done many times. But the recommended time length is about a month. After a month you should be good to go.:) i hope that helped:)
takes about 6 months to a year to fully heal
2-3 months. You could probably change out the jewelery after 3 weeks or so.
With any new piercing, professional body piercers don't consider a piercing permanent till it's a year old. This is the point where the piercing is toughened and as we say "seasoned".
In About 2 weeks you can take it out...
The length of time you have the piercing for will be three times that period for the piercing marks to close up and disappear.
i think a few weeks but no offence but lip peircings are stupid
Nope, i've had my tongue pierced, and i didn't have to take my lip piercing out.
any body can get a lip piercing as long if its a unisex or male stud or jewelry
There isn't a way to tell :/
Its called a labret piercing. The time that you can leave the piercing empty varies from person to person.
Do you just mean a lip piercing? Piercings aren't considered to be permanent. So yes, you can remove it whenever you'd like. Theres a chance that it'll leave a scar, but it should be pretty small unless there are complications :)
umm.. if your getting it prof. done like maybe 10 min.
Wait 4-6 weeks after getting a lip piercing to change the jewelry in it
There are no limitations to what you can eat after a lip piercing.
For your upper lip, Left is a monroe piercing. The bottom lip could just be a lip piercing, or labret piercing.
