Well, there's not big harm in doing it occasionally. But it's not helping anything either. Your body, like a car, runs best when it's fueled regularly, and your body, just like a car, can run unevenly when the tank runs low.

For humans, running low on food, even if they're not feeling hungry, usually means becoming grumpy, irritable and bad tempered. They frequently won't have the energy needed to deal with things either.

So if you don't want to eat for yourself, eat for the sake of the people around you. Someone behaving like above isn't much fun to be with.

Skipping meals is also a poor plan for someone trying to lose weight. First off it lets you get much hungrier when you finally do have a meal, so it's a lot easier to overeat.

Secondly, you might get so hungry that you decide to pick up a snack on your way, and that snack might not fit in your diet plan at all.

Third, if you eat too little, and too far between, your body will slow right down to get the best"mileage" possible out of what little it gets - which makes it even harder to lose weight.

Regular, planned meals and snacks keeps your motor going, keeps you from getting too hungry, keeps you from overeating, and keeps you from picking up something unhealthy along the way.
