Yes. The pitcher plant contains chlorophyll to produce glucose. Due to the poor-soil environment that the pitcher plant lives in, it cannot gather sufficient amount of nitrogen through the soil, which is why it needs to digest insects in order to be well nourished.

How does pitcher plant eat?

A pitcher plant captures insects and dissolves them to obtain nutrients. These and photosynthesis provide them the necessary energy to grow.

Can a pitcher plant survive without sunlight?

No. It has green leaves and therefore needs sunlight for photosynthesis.

Why does pitcher plant feed on insects even it is green and carries out photosynthesis?

pitcher plant is an insectivorous plant all plants need nitrogen insectivorous plants usually grow in an area which lack nitrogen insects contain nitrogen so it traps the insects

What is a plant that does not use its leaves for photosynthesis?

No plant does not photosynthesis

Does the Pitcher Plant make its own food?

All carnivorous plant preform photosynthesis, but add meat to their diet to make for poorly mineralized soils.

What is the relationship between photosynthesis and growth?

Photosynthesis has a lot to do with the growth of the plant. This is because photosynthesis produces glucose which the plant uses as food.

Why pitcher plant feeds on insects despite it can perform photosynthesis?

It eats insects so it can get nitrogen because it lives in an area where nitrogen is not abundant in the soil.

What do photosynthesis and plant cells have in common?

photosynthesis occurs in plant cells. in the chloroplasts.

In what part of a plant cell does photosynthesis occur?

in which part of a plant cell does photosynthesis occur

Where does photosynthesis occurs in plant cell?

photosynthesis occurs in chloroplast in the plant cell.

If a plant dont have photosynthesis will it die?

It is impossible for a plant not have photosynthesis because photosynthesis occurs in the chloroplast, in the plant cell. There are billions+ cells in a plant. But yes, because photosynthesis is the process where plants use the energy of sunlight to convert it into sugars and starches for energy.

Can plant cells photosynthesis?

Not all types of plant cells perform photosynthesis. Most cells on the shoot of the plant (depending on the plant) are capable of photosynthesis. However, most root cells are white because they lack pigments and, therefore, are incapable of photosynthesis.
