facing engine #1 left to Right ie #1 on the passenger side #4 on the drivers side.
you have backfire bacause you forgot to match wires with right cylinder

You start at the brake farthest from the master cylinder. right rear, left rear, right front, left front.You start at the brake farthest from the master cylinder. right rear, left rear, right front, left front.
It starts on the side of the engine where the number one cylinder is. This varies by manufacturer, fore instance Chevrolet's number 1 is on the driver side Ford's number one cylinder is on the passenger side.

Mostly Number 1 cylinder is the frontmost cylinder. Some older cars ( Alfa's are one ) the number one cylinder is the back cylinder

Right above the slave cylinder there is a bleeder screw. Just unsrew it and have someone hold in the clutch to start the bleed.
