No, because the new iPad has magnets and the older one doesn't.
Yes, the new iPad still is usable with the Smart Cover.
Yes, apple say that they will bring out a new smart cover which covers the back as well as the front.
The Smart Cover designed for the new iPad2 is the same size as the original iPad because the two iPads have the same size display. However, the Smart Cover is attached to the iPad 2 by magnets. The iPad 2 has magnets inside and so does the Smart Cover, there are 21 inside the iPad 2 and 10 more in the Smart Cover. However the original iPad has no magnets so there is no way to attach the Smart Cover to the original iPad. Some of the magnets play another role, the Smart Cover can wake and sleep the iPad 2 by opening and closing the cover. This is also done with some of the magnets. I would not try to use the Smart Cover on the iPad, it was not designed for that purpose and would be a poor substitute for a cover better intended for that purpose. Dah•veed Monterrey, Mexico
Yes, there the same size!
Both the iPad 2 and New iPad (3) use the same smart cover. They are $49.00 for the neoprene ones, and $79.00 for the leather ones in the US.
Not likely. Hard shell cases will have to be modified to fit the slightly thicker 3rd generation new iPad.
There is no iPad 4 yet. The iPad 2 and new iPad (Gen 3) have integrated magnets to hold the smart cover in place. They also have a magnetic switch that puts the iPad to sleep with the cover is closed.
The new IPad 2 starts at $499. A cover will cost start at $39 and go up to as much as $69 for a Smart Cover. The IPad comes with some applications. Additional applications will range an average of $.99 - $4.99 depending on the application.
Apple makes the IPad and nokia makes notepad. I believe these are the only ones out there, smart boards are fairly new. There is not a lot of them out there as of yet.
The new iPad's name is..... wait for it.... this is great....... New iPad.
There was no product known as the iPad 3. The 3rd generation iPad was known as the 'new iPad'. The fourth generation iPad will also be known as the 'new iPad'.
Apple may replace the iPad screen if it is covered under the warranty. You can take the iPad to your local Apple store and check what your warranty covers. They will only replace the cracked screen.
