Yes, in the Ganges River. You can see more if you type in Ganges into a website which shows videos. Not just a few bodies, but ALOT of bodies due to disease. What is crazy, they also use this river to fish, brush their teeth and to clean up.

no it will make the holy river impure

That answer is absolutely incorrect. The Ganges River is filthy with chemical waste that is still being dumped in it on a daily basis. Even worse, the river is loaded with Fecal_coliform(human waste) from untreated human sewerage that is continuously pumped into the river. Despite warnings, the Hindu people still consider the river to be pure and purifying, but factually, the Ganges lists in the 5 most toxic rivers in the world. 80% of India's diseases, and up to one third of the country's deaths stem from water born viruses from the Ganges River. Over many years, hundreds of thousands of dead bodies were placed in the Ganges, as the "Pure" waters are very desired for those dead and dying. I don't know if this is still practiced (most likely it still is unlawfully, as the Hindu people have no respect for law when it comes to traditions and practices of the Hindu beliefs. In addition, the ashes from thousands of cremated bodies are released into the river on a daily basis.

How is pollution affecting other rivers in South Asia besides the ganges?

Pollution has affected the Ganges and the Yangtze rivers in many different ways. - The Ganges river is known to Hindus as a sacred river, so they wash their clothes in the river, take a bath there, put dead cows in (because cows are sacred to Hindus), put dead bodies in, and put their sewage and waste in. - The Yangtze river is full of chemical waste, trash, and sewage. It is very polluted.
