Answer Lesotho has a cool climate, lying fairly far south and at rather high altititude. But there are several species of snakes there, and I would be surprised if there were no turtles at all.

There are lots of tortoises in Lesotho. In the lower areas, along watercourses you will get the amphibious turtles as well.
