No English translation of The Bible is entirely true to the original texts. The King James Bible is actually one of the less accurate translations. In some cases, it uses italics where the translators realised that their translation was not accurate, or where they were unsure of the original meaning. In other cases, they altered words for a better theological outcome, or because they believed the original author had made a mistake.
Translating accurately from Greek is not always possible, because the Greek language has some words that can not be translated into English. It is well known that there are five different Greek words for different types of love, but they can only be translated into English as the same word, love, creating errors of understanding, such as when Jesus asked Peter if he loved him. Another example is the Greek word anothem, which can mean 'born again' or 'born from above', once again creating difficulties in precise translation.
If you prefer the King James Version, this is renowned for the beauty of its language, if perhaps not for consistent accuracy. If you prefer another well known translation, you have also no doubt made a good choice.
