No. You must boil the skins of potato because they contain a substance called solanine which is an alkaloid and can harm a chicken. This is also why the leaves of certain plants such as potatoes, tomatoes and rhubarb must be avoided when feeding scraps to your flock. Most other vegetable peelings can safely be fed to the hens raw, as a treat. It is best to provide a good quality commercial feed as the main source of nutrition whenever possible.
