No you do not. First you have to get under the dash on the drivers side and at about the med point of the entire clutch pedal there is a plastic "basket" that is connected to the arm of the pedal. pop off this "basket" and the slave cylinder is detatched from all parts inside the car. Then under the hood take a 1/2 in. deep well socket and unbolt the slave cylinder from the fire wall. then trace the line that comes out of the bottom of the slave cylinder and it should lead you to the right side of the transmission. There is a certain way that the little plastic ring has to be postioned to pull it from the transmission, other wise you will break it. The plug is a two piece assembly, make sure you do not pull the entire assembly from the transmission. Someone who had the same problem and had to figure it out.
This is not for beginners. You have to drain the transmission, remove the axles, remove the transmission, install the new cylinder, then replace the transmission, axles, add new synchromesh fluid to the tranny, and bleed the clutch hydraulics. You can get the whole procedure from Autozone's website.
