I would say yes and here is why- you need career training and most schools require a HS diploma or GED. This is so you can get financial aid. Whereas some courses may not require it, it is best to have it on your resume when applying for jobs too. You can get a fast accredited diploma through Excel High School. You can Google the name to find their site. Then, your next step is to find a reputable school for billing and coding. I went w/ Meditec. Again, you can google for the site.

∙ 12y agoFor most positions in a professional office (doctor's office or billing department) you are expected to have a high school diploma or a G.E.D. (general equivalency diploma). That being said, if you are smart, learn fast, can type fast, know computers fairly well and have some kind of office job experience AND know medical terms you might be able to convince someone to hire you in on an entry level (translation = less pay at first). If you are smart enough to do all that then you are smart enough to get a G.E.D. in the first place.
