No. You don't need a passport to go to any part of Ireland from anywhere in the UK. However, due to increased security in recent years, you can't board an aircraft without an acceptable form of photo ID and a current passport is the best form of ID. If you are travelling by ferry, you won't need a passport, but it is advisable to check with whichever carrier you are planning to use as the rules could change.

Northern Ireland is part of the United Kingdom, therefore you do not need a passport if you are traveling from other parts of the United Kingdom (England, Scotland, Wales). You also do not need a passport to travel between any part of the United Kingdom (Northern Ireland, England, Scotland, Wales) and the Republic of Ireland.

Yes, Northern Ireland is part of the United Kingdom and the passport and Immigration rules for the UK apply there. Obviously traveling from another part of the UK to Northern Ireland does not require a passport. However Identity checks may be required as part of transport security, especially if you are flying there.

In theory no, because Northern Ireland is part of the United Kingdom. However, because of increased security in recent years, you probably wouldn't be allowed to board an aircraft without acceptable photo ID. A valid passport is the most acceptable form of photo ID. For the avoidance of doubt, it would be advisable to contact whichever carrier you are planning to use and ask them what identification they will ask you for.
