If you are connecting your desktop computer to a wireless router, then you will probably need a wireless adapter. Most laptops today have wireless cards built into them so that you don't need to buy an adapter and you can pick up a signal from any wireless router.

ā 12y agoYou can use a wired router and an ethernet cable even if you purchase a wireless router. I found that the connection is more stable and have never lost the signal like can happen with a WiFi connection

ā 14y agoIf you do not have an Ethernet cord long enough to go from the back of your modem/router to your PS3, you can use a wireless adapter (if you have a wireless router). But you don't need one.
