Yes you do because you can only buy things from the market place if you have points and marketplace comes with xbox live
Nope
No, there has not been a way of doing this.
No, by buying a gold membership card you just get Xbox LIVE access. No Microsoft points. But why would you PAY for your Xbox Live? You can get a FREE Xbox Live Gold Membership for free with the help of my site. It even has a video tutorial to help. (LINK at bottom)
Xbox live points (Microsoft points) are used to buy things in the Xbox live marketplace. Such as game add-ons!
You don't need "codes". What you need is to go to a GameStop purchase a membership or set up an account with Xbox/Microsoft.
Not really. You only need an xbox live card. you can get them at wal-mart. you can, however purchase Microsoft points to download certain material once you have xbox live. it is optional. i don't really use Microsoft points much at all.
Xbox Live Gold Membership and Microsoft Points are two separate things altogether. The 1600 points you are refering to are Microsoft Points, used to buy Add-ons, Xbox Live Arcade Games, Premium Themes and the like. This is completely independent of the Xbox Live Gold Membership, which deals with Online Play. In order to utilize Xbox Live Gold Membership, you must either buy a pre-paid card which states the amount of time you are buying, or initiate a pay plan with a credit/debit card. In short, assuming you are looking for Online Play, the 1600 points you purchased are useless
I don't think you can use the Microsoft points on the Xbox 720. I don't think there is an Xbox 720.
You can purchase Microsoft points from any game store or online.
There is no way to get unlimited Microsoft Points that does not violate the Xbox Live Terms of Use.
No, those who create accounts have the chance of having a free one-month membership before having to either use prepaid cards, or using some sort of credit, or debit card to continue their membership, never has Microsoft given free points to their customers such as a situation as this.
If you still have remaining Microsoft Points, yes, however Microsoft has transferred from Points to actual Dollar value."As part of the next Xbox 360 system update, Microsoft Points will be retired, and transactions on Xbox will take place using your local currency instead of Microsoft Points. Microsoft Points Cards you purchase from retailers will continue to be redeemable on your console and Xbox.com until further notice. Microsoft has no plans to discontinue acceptance of previously purchased Points cards and codes. For more information, see Microsoft transition to local currency." - Microsoft Xbox
