There is emerging evidence that diet drinks have side effects in susceptable people and skin can be affected. You need to drink quite a lot (i.e. usually 1-2L per day min). Some people get itchy all over. However, your question is interessing because Diet Coke causes my face and neck to get particularly itchy. I dont know why that is. However, I have a theory. Diet coke can cause gout symptoms. Gout causes the formation of solid uric acid in joints, but also elsewhere. People get lumpy deposits in their ears and oher areas where the skin is thin and/or exposed to cold temperatures. This also causes skin inflamation. The answer, whatever the cause, is stop drinking diet drinks. If you need another good reason, they actually cause craving for sweet things and weight gain. Dont beleive me...Google it.
