Animals suffer a lot.
Millions of cats, dogs, foxes, raccoons, and other animals go through pain each day. You can search YouTube on a video of the process of skinning an animal (Warning: Extremely graphic).
Please, think about this before you buy any fur products. The animals will thank you.
Animals used for fur suffer more than you would imagine. There are many ways to obtain fur, the main ways being fur farms, trapping and the Chinese. I separate the Chinese because in the streets of China many homeless dogs and cats are taken (even some out of yards) and then skinned alive. Fur farms and trappers at LEAST try to kill them ahead of time although that effort is not always successful.
Yes, Fur coats is animal cruelty unless the animals are already dead. But usually people lay traps and when they have an animal they want, they would either beat them, strangle them, poison, or even electrocute them just to get their fur.
Up to 50% of trapped animals are 'useless animals' including domestic cats and dogs. 1 to 4 captured animals escape by chewing his or her leg or paw off, dying by loss of blood , infection or predators. Conclusion: Fur coats is Animal Cruelty unless they die naturally, most of the time they die because of us humans.
Yes, animals do die whenever their fur is taken for fur coats. The animal is killed then skinned and their fur is made into coats, hats, gloves, etc. Animals like sheep, alpacas, and llamas are the only animals who are not killed before their wool is taken to be made into clothes.

Ermine fur.
They make fur coats for money! That's not cool. Don't you think? Fur coats are made because rich people think they look stylish, not because they are warmer than other coats. We can manufacture much warmer, and stylish coats using completely synthetic materials instead of animal fur/hides.
The Sable provided the fur for the costs for Kings and Emperors. Other animals that provided coats were foxes, minks, and raccoons.
some animals grow thick fur coats
Yes, animal fur and skin is the same thing, leather, fur, reptile skins are all the same, the animal has to die and is often fully conscious when their skin is being ripped from them, perhalps if we seen the faces behind our fur coats with before and after images of the animals we'd think twice about what we wear in the name of fashion especially when we have so many synthetic alternatives.
mainly cloathing like coats, but they can also be used to make rugs (fur pelts)
You can't make a coat out of a pile of fur. You'd just have hair.
I think people should not wear fur coats, because the kill animals to do the real fur coats.
There are lots of animals that have spotted fur. A few examples are cheetahs, leopards, and jaguars.
The claws of animal's are used for defending their selves/self when they are threatened by another animal or a human. Their teeth are used for eating their food. And their fur is for their body covering so that they will not feel cold and always stay warm. But, they can be used for fur coats that we humans use, but it is best not to make coats out of fur. :D
