Lice can carry diseases like typhus,but in a country with advanced medicine, it's unlikely that one would even get sick from heead lice.so,no. You can't die from having them. They are just a nuisance and everyone on this planet has had them at some stage of their lives.

∙ 14y agoHead lice are not known to cause or transmit any illness. They appear not to pose any health risk (http://www.cdc.gov/lice/head/disease.html).
But, not treating a head lice outbreak can cause the patient to scratch from an allergic reaction to the lice feeding. If the head lice are not treated quickly, or scratching is vigorous, the skin can break and become infected.
